That light-bulb moment...
Energy Savings
In January 2018 Hafren fasteners replaced all the main warehouse, store room and outside lighting with LED’s and then, later in that same year proceeded to replace the corridor and office lights with LED’s.
Our target was a 25% reduction in electrical energy usage in 2018 compared with 2017. In total we achieved a saving of approx. 8126 kWh which equates to just over 30% reduction in energy usage and with it a substantial cost saving. Good result and target exceeded!
The company has made a further commitment in 2019 to energy saving and replaced the light units in the Conference room, Canteen, Directors office and WC’s. In addition, occupancy sensors have been fitted in the Canteen, WC’s and warehouse storerooms to further reduce electricity usage.
Our target for 2019 is a further 15% reduction in electrical energy usage compared with 2018.
Steve Carron (operations manager) who led the project said, “A more robust sustainability approach, developed through environmental practices can significantly decrease operational costs, proving that environmental management is not just ethical, but essential for improving a business’s bottom line” …
