Hafren fasteners will be overdoing it in denim
To raise money for jeans for genes day
Staff at Hafren Fasteners will be leaving their suits at home and wearing their jeans on Jeans for Genes Day 2016 which takes place on Friday 23rd September.
The company, which is based in Newtown, will be running various events on the day, including bake-offs, sponsored penalty shoot outs and social media based competitions to get the rest of our customer base and network involved in the worthy cause.
As well as this, our Warehouse Manager, Mike Williams, has volunteered to 'Don his Denim' to cycle a 50-mile bike ride in the name of raising funds for Genes for Jeans (Genetic Disorders UK) Charity. Mike plans to set off from the Hafren site (Newtown, Wales) in the early hours of the morning on a 50-mile route around Powys, before starting his shift!
All proceeds raised will be donated to the charity, along with our own personal £2 donations for wearing the Jeans and additional collections.
We all inherit a range of talents, skills and personality traits through our genes – they’re part of what makes us who we are. But 1 in 25 children also inherit a genetic disorder that makes their life very difficult. By pulling on a pair of jeans overdoing it in denim, we will be helping to fund the vital care and support services that transform their lives.
Jeans for Genes Day invites everyone across the UK, from nurseries and schools to companies and individuals, to wear their jeans for the Day in return for a small donation.
Free fundraising kits are available at jeansforgenes.org or by calling 0800 980 4800.
“All of the team at Hafren Fasteners are proud to support the 21st Jeans 4 Genes day. We hope that the funds raised as a result of our varying activities and contributions goes some way to changing the lives of those affected by genetic disorders. It is all too easy for many of us to take the little things in life for granted and events such as these bring home what really matters and the importance to help one another. We hope that the fun day helps put a smile on someone’s face and urge people to get behind such a worthy charity in any way they can”. (Annette Callingham, Executive Assistant)
